Bryson DeChambeau Clinches His Second Win of the LIV Season with a Single-Stroke Victory in Chicago

Bryson DeChambeau’s exceptional performance included a 6-under 28 on the back nine, securing his triumph with a final birdie on the penultimate hole at the LIV Golf-Chicago tournament on September 24, 2023. DeChambeau showcased his skill by making three consecutive birdies after a sole bogey on the par-four ninth hole.

In a remarkable turnaround, DeChambeau overtook the overnight and clubhouse leader, Sebastian Muñoz, who slipped to fourth place after a final round of 73. DeChambeau finished with a superb 8-under 63 at Rich Harvest Farms, totaling 13-under 200 for 54 holes.

This victory marked DeChambeau’s second win of the season on the Saudi-funded tour. His Crushers team, alongside Anirban Lahiri, secured a three-shot win in the team competition, earning DeChambeau a substantial $5.25 million, which included $4 million for his individual win.

In August, DeChambeau had a memorable performance, closing with a remarkable 12-under 58 at The Greenbrier. Reflecting on his success in the LIV Tour, he described this period as one of consistently strong golf in his career.

Looking ahead, the next event on the LIV Golf calendar is the Jeddah Invitational, taking place in Saudi Arabia from October 13 to 15.

Brooks Koepka, before his Ryder Cup appearance in Italy, concluded the tournament with a score of 71, finishing at 5 under par. Koepka, who won the PGA Championship in May and was selected for the U.S. team, stands as the only LIV player participating in the biennial team competition.
